We´ve been making music together since 2011 – but our collab Kytes is relatively new. Our first gig as Kytes was in June 2015, one month after we released our first single Inner Cinema.
What was your breakthrough?
There hasn’t been a special ‘breakthrough’ moment as such, it´s more like a musical journey that we´re on. We gained experience on stage and in the studio long before we founded Kytes.
Who´s your Ones2Watch?
There are so many talented artists out there… Foals, Tame Impala, Flume, Roosevelt, Bilderbuch, Two Door Cinema Club, Phoenix – to name a few.
Bench’s #LoveMyHood campaign focuses on city culture and the music within it. Where’s your local neighborhood and what makes it so special?
Munich is our ‘hood – no matter how long we´re travelling, we feel home the moment we cross the city border. The place where we hang out most is our band room where we rehearse too. It´s close to the Isar where we like to swim and BBQ in summer.
What´s next for you?
Festival season has just ended for us, we’ve played more than 30 festivals during the last four months! We’re now looking forward to releasing our debut album Heads and Tales mid-September and will be touring through Germany this autumn.
